How to theme your day

Choosing a theme for your wedding may not be the first thing on your mind when looking for stationery, but if you want a coordinated look throughout your wedding, a clear theme is a must!

Tip: To get ideas, shop around and order some wedding invitation samples. Most good online wedding stationers offer these free of charge.

Save the date cards and wedding invitations are often the first glimpses your guests will get of your wedding, so be sure to create the right impression. Stationery can also be used to set the theme or colour scheme of your wedding.

For example, if you are having a traditional wedding set in a stately home, you may want to choose a formal design like 'English Roses' or 'Baroque Love Birds'.

Or, if you are thinking about having a vintage wedding in a country venue, 'Rustic Wedding Lace' or ‘Elegant Lace’ would help set the scene for your special day.

Tip: Before buying save the date cards or wedding invitations, think about what other stationery items you are going to need and check whether they are available. If they are not, you could end up spending extra time shopping around, only to end up with a mish-mash of stationery on the day. It’s always worth contacting the stationer and asking if an item is available in a particular design, even if you can’t see it on their website. They might be able to create it for you!
