We're open & here to help
Here at Tree of Hearts, we absolutely adore save the dates! But we know that they're not for everyone.
If you're unsure whether you want to have save the dates for your wedding, we are here to help.
Here are our pros and cons to save the dates:
We think that there are a lot of pros to having save the dates! They're stylish, useful, and so much fun to create.
Here are a few more reasons why we love them:
Everyone can make arrangements
Giving out save the dates around six months in advance of the day, gives people lots of time to make their arrangements. Whether that's booking time off work, booking childcare, or organising their hotels, they're sure to get everything sorted on time.
This means you are less likely to have people drop out last minute as they find they are unable to attend.
Featured Product: Destination Passport Save the Date Cards
If you are having a destination wedding, it is crucial to be sending out save the dates (or at least telling people the dates in advance!). People will struggle with booking hotels and flights if you leave it all to the last minute, and you will find that people are unable to make it.
Giving them plenty of time to RSVP means that they can book everything with plenty of time to spare, and ensures they will be able to save up money needed for the day.
Likewise, if your wedding falls in a busy holiday period, such as Christmas, you will need to let people know in advance.
Announces your engagement
Sending save the dates is also the perfect way to announce your engagement.
Of course, many people will know from social media or via text, but there's nothing like paper stationery to really show off your good news!
It will feel more real
Sending out beautiful wedding stationery will definitely get you in the wedding mood!
Featured Product: White Country Bouquet Save the Date Cards
Sending out your save the dates will make the day feel more real for both you and your wedding guests, and help everyone start building up excitement for your day, too.
Despite the pros of sending save the dates, there are a couple of cons, too.
It's expensive
We know that good quality stationery can get expensive!
If you know that this is something you can afford, then we think you should go for it. But don't feel the need to buy them if they don't fit into your wedding budget. For most weddings, they aren't an essential.
Have to prepare a guest list early
You will also have to start making your guest list far earlier if you are planning to send save the dates.
On the one hand, this does get the job done faster and reduce stress in the run up to the day, but you do also risk inviting people that you may not actually like when your wedding comes around!
